When Gallie Miles clients Blair and Rosie Shaw began the hunt for their first home around eight years ago, life looked a little different.

Fast forward to 2024 and the couple have two children, a thriving handyman business and are happily living in the Kihikihi house they purchased back in 2016.

Gallie Miles Director Alex McIvor has been there throughout the journey, guiding them through their legal matters. 

“Blair and I started looking for our first home in Te Awamutu about eight years ago,” says Rosie.

“It was a competitive market, and we’d had our heart set on a few houses and missed out. Then we found this one in Kikihiki and got onto it straight away so that we didn’t miss out again.” 

“Alex did everything really fast and efficiently and we were successful in securing the property quickly,” says Rosie. 

“He was with us every step to guide us through the paperwork and legal jargon and give us peace of mind. I remember it being really overwhelming but Alex made it all really straightforward.”

“He was always available, and it was easy to arrange a time to talk with him. He was always on the end of the phone if we needed.”

“Alex also made us aware of what could potentially happen and any potential liabilities. He just made us feel secure and gave us peace of mind. He was always professional and thorough, while also being approachable at the same time.”

Since their first home purchase, Blair and Rose have enlisted Alex for other matters including getting their Wills and Enduring Power of Attorney set up.

“After moving into our house we’ve had two children and life has changed a bit,” says Rosie.

“Alex has also helped us with Blair’s Handyman Business, setting us up with some standard terms and conditions that we use during the quoting process. We have peace of mind that we’re protected with the liabilities relating to our business.”

Rosie says it’s been great to work alongside Alex throughout.

“I guess you could say we’ve worked alongside Alex through our ‘life and times’,” laughs Rosie.  

“He has been with us all the way. He just always has the answers and advice we need.”
